As though you ever thought you'd see this day.

As I'm cleaning out my life to move to Berkeley in 12 days (ah!), I'm coming across a lot of things I don't need, don't use, and haven't seen since high school. It is clear that these things must go to my beloved thrift store. So far, though, the hardest thing to part with is the 100ish pairs of earrings I just weeded out of my now 240-pair collection. Hard to believe I could get rid of one-third of my hoard, but also unbelievable that I had that many in the first place. And that I have 240 that I still must have! I talked about trying to get to 365 and then wearing one pair each day for a year without repeating...that's a little lofty of a goal now. And getting rid of all of these earrings is sort of cathartic. Since I began my collection (sophomore year of high school) I haven't given up a single pair, unless it was broken or missing its mate. And now, here I am, voluntarily handing over memories upon memories. Here's the tangle of plastic that is leaving me forever:

I am full of earth and dirt and You.

Ask and you shall receive.
